One Day till the start.....the Quiet before the Storm

Great day at the Village

and signing the race register
It was magnificent weather in Cape Town today as we went down to the Race Village on the Cape Town Waterfront to register and collect all our kit for the race.  The organisation and logistics were pretty impressive and it didnt take long to collect our kit.  We have so much new stuff, it will need its own bag to bring it all home.
Buzz getting our kit
We had the race briefing and the boys bought a few teeshirts, then it was time for Coffee and Lunch. This was 3 hours after we had had a huge full breakfast at the hotel. We all were loading up, getting ready for the week ahead. We got back to the hotel around 2pm, and Buzz and I jumped on the bikes to roll the legs over.  Johnny and Mark elected to have the day off the bike, however we felt having a lazy roll and not missing a day was a better way to prepare for tomorrow.
Part of the Coastline around Camps Bay.....Magnificent
We took off around a magnificent road, something similar to the Great Ocean Road in Victoria or
Lawrence Hargreaves Drive on the way to Wollongong.  We had an easy 20k, with us checking the bikes. I am having trouble with my front derailluer which I will get our mechanic to look at in the morning before our start.  We headed back to Camps bay and sat and had a coffee and chatted to an Irish couple who were visiting Sth Africa.

We got back to the hotel, had a swim and packed and prepared everything for the morning. We have to be up at 5am to be ready for an early start, so tonight was down to the local italian for a "spag bol" and a beer.  We were all in bed by 10am, Buzz and I watching Pirates of the Caribbean....what ragers!!!

We were all keen to have a easy day, as it is a big week in front of us.
